With his two main passions being technology and teaching, George Giltner is especially well-equipped for his role as the new President and CEO. For him, the best part of working with kids is being present when the "LED in their heads" light up and they finally understand how something works and he feels that all students who have access to STEM education.

Growing up, George was always curious and enjoyed inventing and taking things apart to see how they were made. In high school, he joined the robotics team, which, in addition to being one of the best experiences of his life, inspired him to study Electrical Engineering Technology at Purdue University. But when that didn't cover his passion for teaching, he changed his major to Technology Education, giving him the best of both worlds. After graduating, George began his career at Carmel High School, teaching classes like Digital Electronics and Introduction to Engineering Design, while also serving as the head coach for the robotics team and partnering with local elementary and middle schools to form robotics clubs.

When he's not building robots and inspiring students to become young inventors via his FIRSTEP summer robotics camp, George enjoys spending time with his wife Danielle and fur-baby Joey. He spends lots of time outdoors and on their boat with friends, and has been fostering dogs in need of loving homes since 2012.

To say that I’m thrilled and honored for this new responsibility is an understatement. I’m so energized to move our mission forward by impacting more students, building and strengthening partnerships with those who invest in our cause and changing the world for the better through our important work.

I have been privileged to experience first-hand the impact STEM education can have as a student and educator and these experiences will help fuel my passion to work towards a movement that STEM education opportunities should be available to all students.

I’m proud of our team, board of directors, and partners that support our mission to help to make STEM education accessible to all students!
